AUDITIONS
The Center encourages performers to audition for our plays and musicals - experience is not necessarily required. Most shows are non-pay and non-Equity unless otherwise noted. Auditions appointments are recommended - call 201.216.8937 ext. 3 or e-mail auditions@debaun.org to schedule as of the dates indicated under each production.
 The Theater Company in residence at The Center for the Performing Arts at DeBaun Auditorium is seeking a small cast (3M, 2F) for their production of Bartholomew Fair, NJ.
DESCRIPTION
Bartholomew Fair, NJ is adapted, from the original work written by Ben Johnson in 1641, in modern verse bringing a contemporary sensibility to the classic comedy that is suitable for all ages. Only 5 performers (3 male, 2 female) portray 35 characters in this 70-minute performance. This will be the premiere of this new work and will be performed in parks and small venues throughout Hudson County.
REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
- Weekday evening and weekend rehearsals begin June 1, 2008 and run through July, 2008.
- Current performances include: July 11, 12, 13 18, 19 & 20, 2008 at 7pm and July 12, 13, 19 & 20, 2008 at 4pm at Frank Sinatra Park in Hoboken, NJ. Other performance dates and locations may be added,

AUDITION DATES
- May 27 & 28, 2008, from 7-9pm
- Auditions are held in half hour slots so when you request an audition appointment, be prepared with the date and time you prefer.
- Appointments are awarded on a first come, first serve basis so you may not get your first choice. Walk-ins will be seen based on availability.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
- Prepare two contrasting monologues - one of the opposite gender, if possible - either contemporary or classic, but preferably comedic.
- Prepare to demonstrate any special skill that would coincide with the work, i.e., juggling, balancing, magic, lasso, unicycle, accents, musical instruments, etc.
- You must be in good physical condition, as the show is a broad comedy and will be performed outside, therefore being physically demanding.
- This is an original adaptation in development; the cast will be integral in the creation of the final work.
- Non-equity, stipend provided.
- Bring a copy of recent headshot and résumé.
