Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza that seamlessly brings to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Amazing Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville! "Oh, the thinks you can think, when you think about Seuss!"

Kid's Acting Workshop: Geared for all different skill levels, children ages 7-12 can learn about performing musical theater alongside theater professionals in a relaxed, hands-on and fun way!
Attendees will meet the Director, Musical Director and Dance Captain of Seussical to learn the music and choreography to a number in the show. When the workshop is completed, attendees will meet up with their family to see the 3pm performance to then be invited on the stage after the curtain call to perform their song and dance with the whole cast for the entire audience.The applause of the audience will truly be a great reward!
Workshop Dates: February 17th at 1pm (the 24th is now booked)
Cost to Participate: $25/child - cost includes admission to the 3pm performance of Seussical(parents will have to purchase their tickets separately)
Limit 12 children in the workshop - First come, first serve registration.

SEUSSICAL CAST & DIRECTORS BIOGRAPHIES
ERIC ANDERSON (Wickersham Brother),Seussical is Eric's fourth production at The Center for the Performing Arts, having previously appeared in Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show, and Anything Goes. He is a senior at Stevens and has performed with the Stevens Dramatic Society in Batboy and Little Shop of Horrors,, as well as been a member of the student staff at DeBaun Auditorium. He would like to thank everyone for sharing in this crazy adventure and to quote Theodor Geisel: "Don't cry because it's over. Laugh because it happened."
REBEKAH BAYLES (Bird Girl) Rebekah has just recently moved to NYC to pursue her acting career. Prior to arriving in the Big Apple, Rebekah attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA where she received her BFA in Theatre. Some credits include Smokey Joe's Cafe, Medea, Metamorphoses, Three Sisters, and Shakespeare in Hollywood. Rebekah also appeared in The Vagina Monologues at the Firehouse Theater and Cross to Bare in Shafer Street Playhouse. "Thank you to all of my family and friends that have made this dream possible!"
EMILY BEATTY (Who) Emily is thrilled to be working at DeBaun again where she was most recently seen in Urinetown, the musical. She recently received her Master's from Long Island University in Education, holds a BFA in Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts and is a Drama Teacher/Director at Sunset Park Preparatory School in Brooklyn. Recent credits: Exhibit This! (Midtown International Theatre Festival), First Kiss (Samuel French Finalist-2006), The Garden Party (Strawberry Festival Semi-Finalist), The Heist Project, (ArtHouse Productions) and the world premiere of Not A Dream (Looking Glass Theatre). "Thank you Billy, Liz and Sean for the opportunity. For my lucky charm: Ella Scott."
LEZLEE BENNINGER (Mayzie La Bird) This will be Lezlee¹s third production with The Theater Company after appearing in Schoolhouse Rock Live! and Into the Woods. She has also worked at the PCPA Theaterfest in CA performing in Beauty & the Beast, A Little Night Music, Oliver! and Brigadoon; and with the Arizona Theatre Company in The Pirates of Penzance and Macbeth. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Arizona. "Enjoy the show, and have an AMAYZING time!"
DAPHNE CICCARELLE (Who) Currently attending the 3rd grade in Summit, Daphne's love of performing has already brought her many film, commercial, and theater credits. She studies dance, voice, and drama at Front & Center for the Performing Arts, and has recently signed with Product Model Management in NY.
LEO da SILVA (Horton the Elephant) Leo is back with The Theater Company after his role as Officer Barrel in Urinetown, the musical last fall. As a graduate of NJCU, his favorite roles include: Bernardo (West Side Story), Matt (The Fantasticks), Evita (European Tour), & Hysterium (A Funny Thing Happened...). Aside from musicals, Leo has also performed in classics such as Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor, & Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth. Recent credits: Michael (tick, tick...BOOM!) and Abel (Children of Eden) "Thank you Dave, Billy, Liz and the terrific cast & crew at DeBaun! This is for Becky for teaching me to fly1"
BRIDGET B. DUNN (Mrs. Mayor Who) This marks Bridget's third production with The Center for the Performing Arts after appearing in Anything Goes and Urinetown, the musical. She has appeared Off-Broadway in a staged reading of the operetta Edith Stein. Bridget has also appeared in Little Shop of Horrors, On The Town, Born Yesterday, The Rivals, Assassins, Company, A Funny Thing Happened... and more. Bridget would like to dedicate her performance to 2 of her favorite little people, Emily and Jacob - xoxoxo!
MARK DUNN (Wickersham Brother) Mark is glad to be back at DeBaun in his second show with The Theatre Company. He was last seen as Officer Lockstock in last fall's production of Urinetown, the musical. Mark would like to thank Billy, Liz, Sean and Dave for this opportunity. Mark would also like to thank his amazing wife Bridget for putting up with his incessant "Monkey Business." This show is dedicated to his five favorite monkeys: Austin and Luke (in Alabama), and Emily, Jacob, and Grace (in Indiana). "You are my constant inspiration!"
JENNY FERSCH (Who) Past productions include: George M! (Ethel), Titanic: The Musical (Marion Thayer), Grease (U/S Patty Simcox and Cha Cha), The Pirates of Penzance (Ensemble), The Fabulous Fable Factory (Monroe), The Boys Next Door (Sheila), Godspell, Footloose (Ariel), Pippin (Ensemble), A Chorus Line (Val), as well as a Watri at The Show Place in LBI. Jenny enjoys rhyming, thinking, pretending to be a fish, singing songs, dancing, and piggy back rides. So naturally, she couldn't be more excited to be a part of Seussical! As always Jenny sends love and hugs and kisses to Mitch, her friends and her family. "Congratulations! Today is your day."
ERIN FLANAGAN (Bird Girl) This is Erin's second production with The Center for the Performing Arts having appeared in A Christmas Carol (Specialty Choir/Belle). Other NYC Credits include; the Snug Harbor Cultural Center for the Performing Arts productions of: Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), A Grand Night for Singing (Lynne), Reefer Madness (Sally), Scrooge! (Christmas Past), The Full Monty (Pam), Urinetown, the musical (Josephine Strong), The Melody Lingers On, Jesus Christ Superstar (Annas), Sugar Babies (Trixie) and Oliver! (Mrs. Sowerberry/Rose Seller).
ROBERT GONZALES JR. (Mr. Mayor Who/Wickersham Brother) This marks Robert's tenth appearance at The Center and with The Theater Company. Previous productions: Pippin, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Smokey Joe's Café, Urinetown, the musical, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, The Fantasticks, Godspell, The One-Armed Man and Summer Cabaret Series. Off-Broadway: Fools in Love, Tempest Tossed Fools and Kennedy's Children. In March, he will appear in a new play The Ghosts of 14th Street at The Theater for the New City in Manhattan. "Thanks to Billy, Liz, Sean, Dave, Carl, the student staff and the entire cast for everything you do and are. Special thanks to James for always supporting and pushing me to follow my dreams!"
LEAH GREENHAUS (JoJo) is delighted to be back with The Theater Company at DeBaun after appearing in Schoolhouse Rock Live! last spring. She just finished the run of Meet Me In St. Louis at the Paper Mill Playhouse (Agnes u/s). She also attended Paper Mill's Summer Musical Theater Conservatory, and appeared in their "New Voices 2007 Concert" Hooray for Hollywood. Favorite roles include Martha Cox in High School Musical and Pobrita in The Beggar and The Wolf. Leah studies ballet at TADA in Verona and voice with Keaton Douglas. She is in the 5th grade at the Hillside Gifted and Talented School in Montclair.
SAMANTHA GUTTERMAN (Bird Girl) Sam I Am is thrilled to be in her 4th show here! DeBaun credits: Little Becky Two-Shoes (Urinetown, the musical), Lucinda (Into The Woods), Fan (A Christmas Carol). NYC: Rosemary (How To Succeed...), Hollywood Blonde (Gypsy), Sailstress (Anything Goes). Reading: The Chrysanthemum Effect (Karon). Film: "Staten Island" (Kim). JAMES KEELEN (Who) This marks James' second production with DeBaun. He was most recently seen in A Christmas Carol. Last August, he portrayed young Tommy in The Academy Theatre's The Who's Tommy. He resides in Flemington, NJ where he studies dance at Premiere Dance Academy, voice & guitar at Spotlight Music, and is a member of his fourth grade choir. James is excited to be part of this production and cast. A big thank you to Dave, "working with Billy, Liz and Sean is awesome. I can't forget Mom, Dad, Tara, John, Grandma, Juanita, Aunt Maureen and Olivia for helping to make my dreams come true with their time, patience, support and sacrifice. Thanks to all my fans and supporters and remember: 'A person's a person, no matter how small.'"
PEYTON KENNEDY (Who) Peyton is excited to be appearing for the fifth time at DeBaun. She was most recently in A Christmas Carol, having been part of the show three years in a row, and was also in The Young Performers Festival. Peyton is a member of the Hoboken Children's Theater Company in productions of The Little Princess, Beauty and the Beast, Honk, Godspell, Cinderella and Annie. Her interests include acting, singing, ice skating, Girl Scouts, swimming, and cheerleading; with hopes of being on Broadway. She is a high honors fourth grader at Theodore Roosevelt School in Weehawken, NJ, and will be celebrating her 10th birthday on February 16. She sends love to all her family, friends, Mom, Dad and her little sister, Lauren.
FRED MURSCH (Yertle the Turtle/Who) Fred is thrilled to be a member of the incredibly talented cast and crew of Seussical. DeBaun Auditorium debut! Notable credits include Sesame Street Live! National Tour (Swing); The Mistakes Tree (Sun Tan); Twelfth Night (Fabian); Inherit the Wind (Bertram Cates); and The Music Man. B.A., NYU Gallatin.
KELLY NICHOLS (Sour Kangaroo) Kelly is an actor/singer/comedian in New York City. She graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a B.F.A. in Acting. Some of her favorite roles include Alaura Kingsley in City of Angels, Franceschina in The Betrothed, Jennifer in Amateurs, Susaneh in The Clearing, and The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods. She is currently a member of E Phoenix Idealis Theater, Inc. (also known as The Phoenix Players) and does productions with them and many other companies in New York City and the surrounding areas. Kelly can also be seen in the evenings performing stand-up comedy at several clubs around the city.
DANIELLE C. PENNISI (Who) This marks Danielle's debut with The Center for the Performing Arts at DeBaun Auditorium! She recently appeared in Titanic: The Musical with the Montclair Operetta Club. A graduate from Arcadia University, Danielle holds a BFA in Acting. Other credits include: Anton in Show Business (Ralph, Ben, Wikewitch), Godspell (Jeffrey), Electra (Servant), Women and Wallace (Lili), and Once on this Island (TiMoune). DON PFLASTER (Grinch/Who) This is Don's seventh DeBaun production, and he most recently laid some Scrooge smackdown as Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol. He has also appeared in Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Into the Woods, The Rocky Horror Show, Godspell, and Ragtime. Beyond DeBaun, he has appeared as Theseus in Holla Holla Productions' A Midsummer Night's Dream in Central Park and as Benvolio in Action Theater Conservatory's Romeo and Juliet. Much love to his family and beloved Alexandra.
LIZA POOR (Who) Liza is super excited to be making her Hoboken debut in the cast of Seussical! A graduate of Penn State University, Liza recently moved to Hoboken from Los Angeles where she lived and worked for more than a year. Career highlights include Jesus Christ Superstar, Ragtime, and the role of Mazzeppa in Gypsy. She would like to thank her husband Mike, her friends and family.
NICOLE SPANO (Who) This marks Nicole’s third production at DeBaun, where she has previously appeared in Urinetown, the musical and as Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol. Most recently, she performed in a cabaret show at Don’t Tell Mama in New York City and sang at Danny’s Upstairs as a part of New Year’s Eve with Danny Aiello and Friends. Other credits include Mrs. Van Buren in Intimate Apparel (Attic Ensemble) and Plunger Girl in Happy Hour (Big Little Theater). Television credits include "Saturday Night Live", "Guiding Light", "All My Children", and "Hope and Faith." Nicole obtained a B.A. in Theater from Fordham University. "Thanks to my friends and family who continue to support me in my every endeavor."
KATHERINE TRESCH (Cat in the Hat) is thrilled to be returning to the stage as a part of the Seussical company. Other credits include The Tall Character in Greater Tuna, Edna in Waiting for Lefty, and Mama Ge in Once on This Island. She holds a BFA and BA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. LAURA YODER (Gertrude McFuzz) Laura is thrilled to be performing again at DeBaun Auditorium. She was most recently seen in The Theater Company’s production of Urinetown, the musical. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where she appeared in numerous regional shows. Favorite roles include Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors), Ms. Bell (Fame - The Musical), Ivy Smith (On the Town), and Maggie (Lend Me a Tenor). She has toured the country as a performer, choreographer and manager of the Penn State Singing Lions show choir. "Love to my family, friends and my beast! XOZ"
BILLY MITCHELL (Director/Choreographer) is the double-agent of Hudson County theatre. He recently directed two of the one-acts, one for The Theater Company and one for the Attic Ensemble, in this season’s Hudson County One Acts Festival and Jeffrey at the Attic Ensemble (where he is president). He’s looking forward to the upcoming directing project, Free to Be...You and Me, with The Theater Company later this spring. Recent directing credits include Into the Woods, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Off the Beaten Path (all with The Theater Company); Jeffrey, Design for Murder, the premiere production of Life, Death and Vermont (at the Attic); and in NYC: Love, Punky (Midtown Int’l Theater Festival), In Search of Tulla Berman and Who’s On First? for No Kneecap Prods.; Sunrize Highway’s Live from New York (at Elmo), Khaki at Bat (at HERE); and The Owl and The Pussycat (at Shetler’s Blackbox). Billy is the creator of A Gorey Phantasy, adapted from unpublished writings provided by late author/illustrator Edward Gorey; and the author/lyricist of Mad King Ludwig, a musical of the final days of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. LIZ GERBI (Musical Director) This is Liz's third production with DeBaun, after MDing Dreamgirls and Schoolhouse Rock Live!. Liz is an active MD, coach, arranger, pianist, and conductor for regional theaters around the country, most recently at Merrimack Rep (Lowell, MA), Wagon Wheel Theater (Warsaw, IN), Helen Hayes Theater (Nyack, NY), and Prospect Theater Co (NYC), 75+ productions and counting. Favorites include Starmites (Millennium Edition, with composer Barry Keating), Once Upon A Mattress (DVD for Rodgers and Hammerstein Music Library), and Sondheim's Passion (a production that entirely took place on military parachutes).
