The Winter One Act Festival features the works of established playwrights as Christopher Durang
and David Ives, along with Stevens faculty member Dr. Anthony Pennino. All plays are performed
by Stevens students and directed by Stevens faculty/staff members.

Sure Thing

Sure Thing is a comic play featuring a chance meeting of two characters, Betty and Bill, whose
conversation is continually reset by the use of a ringing bell, starting over when one of them responds
negatively to the other.

Howard Hopped the A-Train
Written and directed by Anthony P. Pennino
Performed by Edward Delaney and Tom Oliphant
Howard Hopped the A-Train is a comedic look at a blue-collar worker, Howard, who happens to meet
Jesus Christ on board the A-Train after being fired.

Variations on the Death of Trotsky

Performed by Will Estes, Hilary Schrauth and Dylan Lupo
Variations on the Death of Trotsky depicts the death of Leon Trotsky in varying ways, diving into
eight "variations" which depict the last day of Trosky's life. Trotsky dies at the end of each "variation"
and then continues on from near where the last "variation" left off, progressing the story a bit further
each time.

The Actor's Nightmare

The Actor's Nightmare involves an accountant named George Spelvin who is mistaken for an actor's
understudy and forced to perform in plays for which he can't actually remember attending any
rehearsals or being a part of the production and doesn't know any of the lines.
